CB Recommends: Diversifying Your Suede
Fact: suede shoes are dope. There are no if, ands, or buts about it. Some folks have known this for years, others are just catching on. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, though, you need to up the ante in terms of color. Chocolate, tan, and white are staples, but adding a pair of colorful suede derbies to your repertoire can easily put you in another league.
If you are a bit squeamish about bright colors, olive is a great choice: it’s a relatively neutral color so it goes well with a lot of outfits, but it is also unique enough to make one stand out in a crowd. Florsheim has a pair in a beautiful shade of olive that is green enough for you to know they aren’t grey… but they aren’t Kelly green either:

(I know Skip and Shidi got that one) Well then maybe you should look into some red bucks. Bass has got you covered and in lieu of a redundant brick sole, they threw a grey one on these bad boys. Red definitely isn’t for everyone, but it can be easier to pull off than you think, especially as these wear and the color begins to fade:

NEED MOAR COLOR?! Stunt on ‘em in some yellow bucks. Nordstrom released these, with a couple of other vibrant colors, for their in house 1901 brand. The brick sole on these bad boys really makes the pop. They definitely aren’t for the faint of heart, but if you want to be a sartorial gangster you might want to consider:
